Afroman has caused a storm of controversy after punching a female fan in the face for interrupting his guitar solo.
The musician, who is famous for singing the song "Because I Got High" had begun to perform the solo when a female fan approached him on stage and started dancing with him. As Metal Injection notes, he reacted by turning around and punching the fan with full force.
A report from Billboard notes that the woman was bleeding and crying after the incident. While Afroman continued to play his solo, the house lights were brought up and Police took him away and handcuffed him outside the venue. The musician's rep claimed that his reaction was an involuntary reflex:
"This was a completely involuntary reflex reaction to people infringing on his stage space. It was uncharacteristic behavior that was initiated by outside uncontrolled forces."
The rep went on to blame lack of security at the venue for the incident.
