Great Sound for a Great Price

After months of research on Solid block Semi hollows and personally playing a few like the Epiphone ES 355 and Gretsch Streamliner, I decided to go with the Ibanez AS73. Although the Gretsch streamliner sounded a little different, the fact that it didn't have numbers on the tone and volume dials was a turn off because you couldn't keep track of the settings and everything has to be by ear. This is one great guitar, looks as good as it plays and is the probably the cheapest among its peers.

Good guitar, as usual slightly over priced in India

If you can snag this guitar yourself in the US or outside and bring it back then you got a great deal. It is well made - fret edges are smooth, the neck is very playabale, sounds good plugged in and unplugged. I tried an Epiphone ES 339 Pro, a PRS S2 hollowbody , and a Tele thinline. To me this guitar sounds better than the the other three. The PRS is better made (of course) but it is a LOT more expensive. The price of this guitar in India is more than in the US or UK (with VAT waiver). But that is true for the other guitar as well. Online reviews said the pickups are muddy but it does not sound that way to me. I was planning to change the pickups but now I think I will keep it as it is. I was also thinking of replacing tuning pegs to locking but the pegs on the guitar work ok. I would say this is a solid guitar for the price.
