Solid guitar, pickups not too great

Was my first 8 string guitar purchased back in 2016.

At first touch it was quite a hard beast to tame, with it's longer and wider fretboard than I was used to, but it felt good to play. Gives your hands a good workout!

The pickups weren't to my high-gain liking but it sounds good either way. Clean sounds are good and the neck pickup is decent.

So I would give it a worthwhile 4/5 stars

Made a few guitar videos with it which you can check out on my YouTube channel (VOLA, Haken and BTBAM videos only)

Very satisfied with my new Ibanez RG8

Hello(^^♪
So I've been planning to get the Black Variant of RG8, unfortunately it got discontinued, and after almost searching every corner of kolkata, couldn't get my hands on one, so decided to order from bajaao. I've already had read a lot of negative reviews about bajaao, so was in a lot of dilemma whether my instrument would arrive or not.
But fortunately it arrived in 11 days only.
And in very good condition..
Apart from the stock tuners, which are okay, but could've been better, the overall tone, hardware, finish everything is perfect.
Neck feels great, action is pretty low too, but the tone knob resist the hand a bit while picking.
I'd say, if you're planning to getyour hands on your 1st 8 string, go for it. It's a lot lot better than the other brands on market.
You can visit my channel on Youtube- @Shred-O-blivion where I'll be posting some demos and probably some songs with this Ibanez RG8 .
Cheers\m/

Tone! This isn’t only just a DJENT machine!

A complete beast of a guitar. Didn’t expect the stock pickups to be this great! It’s amazing how it growls on the lower strings and gives ethereal solos. The best part is playing the lower 8 th string in the middle pickup position.

This is the best guitar that I own and I mean it

I dont know why this one gets so much criticism for its pickups. Trust me its really usable. I love the sound of basswood too every it has a scooped sound to it with a lot of highs and clarity. If you wanna check out how it sounds check my channel on youtube. Search for "dragtr0n" without quotes Peace..

Affordable, effective and best in this price range

I have always been a huge fan of Ibanez RG series mainly because RG series are crafted in Indonesia. The make and finish is far superior than entry level 8 string models made in China. And mainly because you know you can upgrade an 8 string model and get it on par with any high end 8 string models manufactured by LTD, schecter or Ibanez. The scale length is perfect for a crisp tight sound. The only dark spot on this guitar is the IBZ stock pickups. I played on em for a few weeks. They are not bad at all. But I prefer a much cleaner and a crunchier sounding pickup. My default choice had to be the DiMarzio Diactivators for the bridge only. Still have the stock pick up on my neck position. I researched a lot before getting Dimarzios. A lot of modern prog guitar players mentioned that basswood body along with passive pickups give great results. I also changed my volume and tone pots along with my input jack. Even these small things matter and results in a clean & bright tone.I had to spend 9000 more for the pick ups and other electronics, but it was a wise decision. My earlier tone and current tone has massive difference. The note clarity, dynamics and precision is unreal. I will always advise guitar players to buy mid range guitars and then slowly upgrade it in a couple of weeks. Thats the best way to understand guitar characteristics. Its good to know what goes well with your current guitar and how can you improve the sound without investing a lot of money.
