The recorder is very good but placement is a problem. It has a small base and doesnt balance easily. Should have had a stand.

Great for location records and portable music records

We have used this one several occasions for recording sounds on shoot location of our short films. It works like a charm and never fails. The record quality of the onboard mics is warm and clear. It also features XLR ports to record sounds from mics on separate channels, so we can use the same for recording dialogues through lapels or boom mounted mics. Very handy for a complete set record. Also can be used to record a live music video direct from the console as it is pretty handy, just as big as 2 pencil boxes. And during the whole process, the recordist can monitor the sound to manage the gains and other setting on real time. Great piece of equipment for any location shoot. Downside : keep a store or batteries with you for the record. The batteries run for about 4 hours on demanding sets. Wherever possible, a power adapter is an angel, but reduces choices of portability.

first- built quality is good second- audio quality is superior when I compare with my zoom h2n third- it has many functions than I expect. so need time to learn all to use it for optimum level,

Good and Portable Handy recorder.Good Grip to Hold it.Nice Pre-Amp & Good Gain.Good Quality Inbuilt Mic.When i Used in My Large Studio Room,It Recorded Every Ambiance That i Make.Good Response For Ambient Recording.Vocal Recording Very Lively&lovelyRecord Button is Very Soft and Silent.Good Battery Backup in Normal Mode.(Not Tried With Phantom Power,I Will Try It Later,With My Rode NT1000)I Upgraded The Firmware and Booting Time Improved With SD Card(I am Using Sony 16Gb, Class-10, 90/Mbps Memory Card).All Working Very Well.Received The Item With 2 AA Alkaline Battery&Protective Hard Case. Worked Amazing for my College Project
