This bass both looks and sounds beautiful for a great price. Out of the box, the bass is strung with D'Addario XL's and they were okay. I replaced them with my favorite strings right away.The Diamond series pickups are monsters. There is a ton of headroom and the pickups pack a huge punch which is very comarable, if not, deeper sounding than some of the EMG's in comparable basses. I bump the bass knob a bit when playing through a 4x10 cab so I do not shake the entire house, Both the bass and treble knobs have a center 'notch' as does the blend knob which is handy, most of the time, I leave the bass centered and roll off the treble. The knobs are slightly recessed into the bass body and are burled like those found on a jazz bass. They are built solid and have a nice feel to them.The Bridge is solid and has a nice dark chrome look to it. The bass plays really well and the B string seems to sounds alot clearer.The Bass comes with a nut labeled as a 'Black Tusq" which seems to look good and adds to the aggressive tone of the bass, it looks like hard metal and holds everything tight. The cream colored binding also surrounds the 'slashed' styled headstock, which finishes off the look. The tuners seem to work wellSchecter necks are usually very small and fast and this neck is no exception, the wood is smooth and the fretwork is very good, no setup or fretwork was needed when I restrung it. The B string does go out of tune often, but that seems to be a trait of most 5 string basses from the B being so low and especially with the aggressive tone and bassy sounds of this beast.
