Alright, so you have a hi-fi Ibanez or Les Paul and can rip raunchy solos off it. Cool. But don't you feel sometimes the power of these guitar can be too overpowering when you are playing in a band setting and need to breathe for a moment and let the vocals or bass shine. This is where the SG models come in extremely handy. The power a SG offers is more than a single coil Strat guitar and slightly less than a humbucker (eg:Les Paul), making it perfect for rhythm in rock ballads and even mild mello-stuff. This doesn't mean that soloing off these isn't upto it. If you notice, these models are one of the very few worldwide which make it possible for you to easily access the entire fretboard right up to the 22nd fret. Oh, I cant tell you enough how good the bends sound up on the higher frets on an SG. Also, the guitar is extremely lightweight, almost feels like a toy in your lap, so you can now finally experience playing, not just practicing. The push-pull coil tapping make it much more versatile, from brighter sounds to hot leads. The neck is smooth, factory set action is low, the grip is fabulous, the feel is splendid. The color is beautiful beyond words, especially when the lights are slightly dim, it takes on a very dark personality, unleashing the beast within you. The Epiphone G-400 pro is a very special entry into my collection, if it gets stolen, I'd get exactly another, its that good.
