LEGENDARY MIC!

I absolutely love its classic sound... I've heard many people complaining about its sound quality, and how some other mic at this price range sounds better than this... But the fact is that the sound of those other mics are mostly treble boosted or mid suppressed (i.e. EQed), whereas the sm58 gives you an almost flat frequency response, hence the sm58 sounds just the way you sound in real (without mic). AND I can guarantee that the sound of sm58 would fit in the mix much better, as compared to those other mics.

A One Mic Army

5 years ago when I was looking for a mic (Specifically for Vocals), everyone I knew said: "You can Never go wrong with the SM58". Now I am one of those guys who would say the same thing to others. SM58 has never once disappointed me. Obviously the more you pay the more you get works on Microphones too and you'll need to buy better microphones as you move up the professional ladder. But having a box full of microphones without an SM58 in it seems incomplete. Many top performers have used this mic in their earlier days and they still love it. It's sturdy, Sounds nice, good for everything, makes you sound a bit dark (that's how I love it) and a Microphone which you should buy if your not looking forward to spending 25k plus on a mic that sounds almost the same.
