The term “MIDI” stands for “Musical Instrument Digital Interface”
MIDI keyboards are very different from other portable keyboards. They don’t have their own sound. They act as a controller with piano keys, pads, faders, and knobs which are used to control a DAW / Music Production Software.
They send Digital data to the DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) which can be used to record/produce or compose music.
