King Lucille features two humbucking pickups with a Vari-Tone control switch that allows you to change their sound, mono and stereo jacks, a fine-tuning adjustable bridge, two volume and two tone knobs, plus a three-way selector switch It has a laminated maple semi-hollow body without soundholes and a laminated maple top with pickguard.

King made his first recordings for Sam Phillips' Memphis Recording Services, King was initially known as a talented vocalist and in fact didn't always play lead guitar on his early records But that would all change by the mid ?50s as King and his guitar, nicknamed Lucille, became the voice of the blues.
