The guitar arrived just yesterday. The packaging was well done, as you'd expect from Bajaao. This guitar arrived a little late which is not a concern for me considering the current pandemic situation. I am just glad the guitar arrived in one piece!
When it comes to the guitar itself, I received a model manufactured on 15th March 2021. I would've loved a more recently manufactured model though.The guitar was rather dusty after opening the packaging which showed it had been sitting around for a while.
The guitar was also not setup from the factory. All strings were heavily out of tune, the action was setup too low which caused a lot of fret buzzing and the bridge pickup height is a bit too high. I also feel like the volume and tone controls aren't working smoothly, as the volume and tone suddenly spike up after a certain threshold. However, these are some minor and very fixable issues. I am just disappointed that the guitar didn't come with a hard case or additional tools like a truss rod wrench or an allen key. I assumed they would be included since my previous guitar came with those tools. So I had to use my old guitar's tools to set up this guitar. Hence the 4 stars.
In terms of the guitar's overall weight and size etc, its pretty comfortable and light weight. It has a very sleek design which actually feels much more comfortable than what I was expecting from it. I was noodling around on the guitar for nearly 3 hours before even realizing it. The Fishman pickups do pack a lot of punch in them. I have a small practice amp in which my old Ibanez Gio was never able to get enough gain even when it was cranked to 10. However, this Epi is giving me more gain even at half of that amount. I imagine this would sound even more better with a decent amp.
Overall I am extremely pleased with this guitar except for the minor setbacks. I personally feel like this guitar is worth buying!
In an intermediate budget range, you cannpt go wrong with this guitar. It is an absolute monster. Tonal versatility is off the charts. Go for this, you won't regret it.
