Is this a physical box or a download?
These are licences. After payment you receive an activation code by email, which you redeem in Steinberg Activation Manager or Steinberg Download Assistant. Nothing ships.
What is the difference between a Full Version and a 365 licence?
A Full Version is perpetual — you own that version permanently. A 365 licence runs for one year from activation and stops working when the term ends unless you renew.
I already own an older version. Can I buy an upgrade instead?
Upgrade and crossgrade licences are priced separately from the full versions listed here, and which one applies depends on the version already registered to your Steinberg ID. Sign in to your Steinberg account to see the licences you hold, then check the product page for the edition you want.
Which Cubase should I buy?
Elements if you are learning and want the core engine. Artist if you write songs and keep hitting the track and instrument limits. Pro if you need VariAudio, surround, video sync and the complete plug-in set.
Do these run on Apple silicon and Windows 11?
Current Steinberg releases run natively on Apple silicon and on Windows 11. Check the system requirements on the individual product page before you buy — they differ between titles.
Can I return a licence?
Once an activation code has been issued it cannot be returned, so confirm the edition and its system requirements on the product page before you order. The comparison table above covers the differences between the Cubase tiers.

Because the licence sits in your account, it stays with you across machine changes and reinstalls. Perpetual Full Version licences do not expire; 365 licences run for twelve months from activation.
