I got the concert size of this Alvarez Ukulele, i.e. model RU26C. I chose this model over RU22, which was Rs. 500 less, because I wanted a spruce top with binding. This uke feels really good on my hands. Holds tuning for a long time, like 3-4 days! Sound is very clear and there's no vibration when playing. My Makala dolphin suffers from vibration especially on G chord. Concert size helps for beginners because the gaps between frets are bigger and it's also easier to hold. The specs said this uke comes with D'Addario strings, but I received a Aquila Super Nylgut tag hanging from one of the tuner knobs! No complaints for that though. If you can afford this Ukulele, just go for this as it'll make you love playing. It's good to begin with a wooden uke as the sound and feel of plastic or composite body is not as good.
I already owned a Kala soprano ukulele, but was not satisfied by its sound. It sounded very tiny. So I decided to splurge some more and get a Tenor size Ukulele. The Alvarez Ukulele has a very premium build quality, very stable tuning pegs, and sound rich. The only thing that bugged me a bit was that the action was set a tad too high, but that is something that can be very easily fixed.
