Cort Zenox Series Z42 Electric Guitar - Made in Indonesia
Cort dynamic active pickups and TOM bridge built on to a skilfully crafted mahogany body
For those looking for a reasonably priced electric guitar with tremendous tonal potential, the Cort Zenox Series Z42 is the right choice for you. This guitar features a well-carved mahogany body that resonates a strong low end tone with an emphasis on the midrange. The maple neck is bolted on to the body, which produces a characteristically bright tone. It also helps enhance overall tonal resonance. The rosewood fretboard tilts the tone slightly to the warm side of the sound spectrum by softening sharp high notes. Two powerful Cort active pickups are incorporated in the guitar, which provide loudness in the tone with ample punch. The Tune-o-matic bridge lets you adjust the string tension easily. All the hardware parts are chrome plated to make them withstand corrosion.
Excellent Body Work
The Cort Zenox Series Z42 Electric Guitar has its body crafted from fine quality mahogany that delivers a rich midrange and keeps a spotlight on the low end. The body is nicely curved around the edges so you can play the guitar comfortably. This guitar is a formidable instrument during both practice sessions and live gigs.
Rosewood Fretboard and Maple neck
The Z42 has a rosewood fretboard that improves sustain by filtering stray overtones. Also, the natural sensation you receive on the tip of your fingers as they come into contact with the rosewood is second to none. This guitar has a bolt-on maple neck that gives additional punch to the sound. The C-shape neck design lets you hold the guitar comfortably.
Hum-free Active Pickups and Electronics
Cort understands the demands of the rock and heavy metal music genres. Most times guitarists are scared to touch the higher frequencies and vary the sound because they increase the chances of producing hums. To counter this issue, Cort has fitted the guitar with two active pickups. One of which is located near the neck and another seated near the bridge. These two pickups allow you to reach the higher notes easily without producing any hums. You can use these pickups in different combinations with the 2-way toggle switch. There are two volume and one tone control buttons to shape the tone as per your need.
Trustworthy Axe for a Heavy Metal Guitarist
The Cort Zenox Series Z42 Electric Guitar exudes power from both its appearance and sound. It ideally suits a rock and heavy metal guitarist who desires such power and playability. No matter where you're performing, in the home, on-stage or in the studio, you’ll never get bored of this guitar. The guitar features D'addario Exl110 strings that give a lovely feel as you strum them. These strings are coated with nickel to deliver a unique brightened tone. They also resist corrosion to ensure a long lifespan. You can tune these strings accurately using the die-cast tuners. The guitar features a Tune-o-matic bridge that allows you to change the tension of each strings so that they can play an in-tune chord.
All the hardware parts are chrome plated, which gives a rich look to the guitar. This guitar is available in black and transparent red finish. To get a deep and strong low end, the string tension is increased by feeding the strings through ferrules in the back. It also facilitates in improved sustain that makes the sound reverberate in the air longer than traditional tailpieces and saddles.

Good for hard rock and metal
The finish is very good especially the transparent red. The feel and touch is exemplary. However the active pickups on a Peavey 5 amplifier was more thinny. I expected an output like EMG actives but was not fully satisfied with the tone. For the price with active pickups its a steel.
i don't quite own the guitar but i have used it for a while , anyone who's thinking about buying it ! go for it man ! its a really nice guitar to play almost any genre of music ! and also really good for a price of 13k the bridge pickups can give you the crunchiest sound for heavy metal !
Good guitar the problem was shipping it took weeks. Overall the guitar is good for any hard time rocker
This guitar ...is something i'd say that IS THE BEST THING I EVER BOUGHT :D
the guitar is perfect for my style..excellent sounding distortion and thick sound throughout the fret board. The action was great when I first received it and I didn't have to change anything about that. The pickups where also adjusted beautifully so the only thing I needed to do was tune it down!the hardware is hard and will not wear, the strap buttons are solid as well. For any potential buyers I'd say don't wait for someone else to get it just get it then and there!
