(Daily 10AM - 7PM)
This set is a mix of 8 gauge set and 9 gauge set. Unwound strings belong to 8 gauge set (8, 11, 14) and wound strings belong to 9 gauge set (24, 32, 42)
8 gauge strings are perfect for playing the rock/metal/blues style where you tend to bend the higher strings quite frequently especially while playing solos or some licks. Tone-wise there is practically no difference between light and heavy gauge (please do a blind test before arguing with me) - advantage is easy on your finger and hand. Disadvantage - because of thinner gauge it tends to breaks more easily if there is a physical impact.
The wound strings are one step heavier therefore the wound strings produce more volume (heavier mass, more iron/nickel therefore stronger signal at pickup) and thus sounds more balanced compared to standard gauges.
The only things better than this would be a progressive tension set starting from 8 gauge on high E
