Description
Inspired by the iconic designs of Fender electric guitars, California Player acoustics evoke the west coast spirit of adventure and freedom, inviting musicians to explore their individual creativity and disrupt the status quo.
Crafted with an X-braced solid spruce top and sapele back and sides, the compact parlor-sized body of the Malibu Player produces a sweet, articulate voice that encourages players to reach for new chords and melodies. The nato neck is designed with an easy-to-play slim "C"-shaped profile, a short 24" scale length, and a tilt-back 6-in-line headstock for a distinctive look born from Fender's electric guitar DNA. Other notable details include vintage-style tuning machines for smooth, accurate tuning, a GraphTech NuBone nut and saddle for detailed harmonic character. With elegantly integrated controls for a sleek, modern look, the onboard Fishman Flex preamp system allows faithful reproduction of the guitar's natural sound when plugged into an amplifier or recording device.
Bold, eye-catching and unique, California Series instruments make no compromises, balancing effortless playability, superior sound, and standout style for those who aspire to play something different.
Specs
-
Unique Fender Body Shape: A refined and modernized evolution of the historical 1960s model, the Malibu is a proprietary Fender design whose compact parlor-sized shape and articulate voice is well-suited for many musical styles and players.
-
Solid Spruce Top: An acoustic guitar’s top is a key contributing component to its production of tone, and a solid top provides optimal resonance, volume and dynamic range. Spruce is a popular wood choice for its clear articulation, nuanced character and tonal versatility.
-
Fishman Preamp System: With a sleek, streamlined look and a pure acoustic voice, the onboard Fishman Flex electronics provide intuitive volume and tone controls for dialing in natural amplified tone and a phase control for combatting feedback.
-
Short 24" Scale Length: A short scale length (the distance from the nut to the bridge) creates a low string tension for reduced hand fatigue, ideal for guitarists of any level seeking hours of comfortable play.
-
Tilt-Back 6-in-line Headstock: A tilt-back headstock design optimizes the break angle of the strings over the nut, creating singing sustain and rich resonance.
-
Slim "C"-Shaped Neck: The slim “C”-shaped neck profile is inspired by Fender electric guitars, offering superior hand comfort thanks to its consistently shallow depth and rounded fingerboard edges.
