Being a left hander, you don't have many choices in this price range. I bought this in September 2013. I was confused between this guitar and a Squier Affinity Strat, but ended up buying this. This is my first and only electric guitar.
The thin neck is great and it really helps to play fast.
The frets are smooth, and the tuners also keep the strings in tune well enough.
The humbucking pickups cancel most of the noise, even when using distortion, so it's great on stage too.
The pickups have a nice, fat sound, and sound great with overdrive and distortion.
Since it doesn't have locking tuners, the strings do go out of tune under heavy usage of the tremolo.
The guitar doesn't have a pickguard, so it's prone to getting scratches, but that shouldn't be much of a problem.
I dropped it once on a really rough surface, and apart from losing a little chip of the surface, the guitar remains solid.
Overall, it's a great guitar and will serve you long enough until you buy your next instrument ;-). Highly recommended as a first buy too!
