Ibanez RG Gio Series GRX40 Electric Guitar
Incorporates Ibanez’s powerful Infinity pickups and medium-jumbo frets for versatile playability

Sharpen your playing skills with the Ibanez GRX40 Electric Guitar. It is equipped with plenty of impressive features to help you deliver a performance of a lifetime. The double cutaway styling not only brings down the weight of the guitar but also facilitates access to the higher frets. Medium frets let you play relatively soft genres such as country, rockabilly, or rock and roll on this guitar with ease. This guitar has been engineered to cater to the needs of players who are on the lookout for budget instruments. A scale length of 25.5” renders bright sounds with excellent clarity in the higher overtones. If you want to acquaint your patrons with the essence of genres other than the one you specialize in, this guitar is your best bet, as it boasts a wide tonal range. The radiant chrome hardware components and classy white dot inlays evoke a vintage appeal.

Made for the Globe-trotter

Thanks to the lightweight body of the Ibanez GRX40 Electric Guitar, it is well-suited for touring musicians, as it can be easily carried from place to place. Therefore, now is the time to ‘go places’ with this marvellous instrument. With the double cutaway body profile, you can access the higher notes with minimal effort, as per the demands of the playing situation. The poplar construction of the body of the guitar renders well-balanced tonality. As this tonewood offers a wide array of tones, the GRX40 accommodates a number of genres.

Neck and Fretboard

The neck of the Ibanez GRX40 Electric Guitar is constructed from maple, which lends stiffness and stability to this instrument. Given this tonewood stands its ground in the face of environmental variations, it is widely preferred by luthiers and musicians. Maple offers well-balanced tones and powerful projection on stage. Thanks to the Jatoba construction of the fretboard, you obtain warm tones with pronounced lows, bell-like highs, and a muscular midrange. In addition, the smooth texture of Jatoba makes for a breezy strumming experience.

Towards Faithful Reproduction

The Ibanez GRX40 Electric Guitar is powered by Ibanez’s high-performance Infinity pickups. The Infinity R humbucker at the bridge retains the clarity of sound even when the guitar is under the influence of a heavy attack while keeping buzzes and hums at bay. The bright and crisp sounds produced by the single coils at the neck and in the middle support the accommodation of the rock, blues, and punk genres. In addition, you have volume and tone control knobs to help you accurately shape the sound produced by your beloved guitar.

Tune Up

The Ibanez GRX40 Electric Guitar features the Std. tremolo bridge for extended sustain and resonance. You can change the tremolo angle as per your requirements to achieve that perfect sound.

An Epitome of Elegance

The Ibanez GRX40 Electric Guitar exhibits a sparkling white pickguard, chic chrome hardware parts, and elegant white dot inlays. This guitar is available in eye-catching finishes: Black Night, Candy Apple, Chocolate Brown, Pearl White, Tri Fade Burst, and Beam Blue.

Ibanez RG Gio Series GRX40 Maple Neck 6 String Electric Guitar - Jatoba Fretboard

Best Guitar in the segment

The best starter guitar

This guitar is perfect. It sounds absolutely incredible. The intonation is great, the body is incredibly comfortable, and my god that neck is just perfection. It's so easy to play and the pickups sound incredible. Like most cheap guitars, there are issues with the tuning stability when you use the whammy bar, but that's very easily forgivable for a guitar of such high quality. I've played many other guitars in this price range, and none have sounded and felt as good as this one. If Ibanez's budget guitars are this good, I can't imagine how good their expensive ones are.

Delayed delivery

The website promised despatch within 24 hours, but it took more than 10 days for the despatch itself. The customer support lines get disconnected frequently which needs to be improved.

Great guitar with a few issues out of the box

It's a great guitar. I bought the metallic blue one and it's absolutely gorgeous. Only issue was it's not ready to play of out the box, as the action was nearly double of the correct string height and intonation was off. Need truss rod adjustment, adjusting saddle height, after watching loads of YouTube videos, which is not good for a beginner guitar. Hence taking off 1 star. But now it's faultless. The satin finish neck makes for good playability

Perfect tuning. Never lets you down for years.

I am very muchh impressed by the tuner. I play my guitar 3 hours daily. I play lead and chords. Once I tune the guitar, it stays in tune for as long as 1 full month. Which Ya. It never goes out off tune. Only very slight variation. I am saying it so confidently that I use a tuner. Good to buy.

Perfect electric guitar

Good for beginners

awesome guitar for beginners!

This was my first ever guitar and I can assure you this is hands down of the best guitars out there if you are a beginner. The neck is comfortable as you'd expect from Ibanez, the frets feel smooth, tuners are okay and the pickups get the job done. Only downside I'd say is the weight, which is on the heavier side, but you eventually get used to it.
