I use Vic Firth 5AN (nylon tip) sticks and it's only been 3 weeks since I bought it. This cymbal is amazing. To me the bell stands out the most. The ride area is a little quite. The outer crash area responds well and decays quickly so that the ride patterns are more distinguishable. I can see myself playing only this with a pair of hats for a small gig. The AAX series are known for their focussed brightness, but don't get me wrong because this cymbal is musical and has certainly met if not exceeded my expectations. Cymbals do take time to open up (loosen) so I'm excited to see what's in store for me. God bless!
