I bought the iO4 in 2014 against popular choices of Focusrite and M-Audio. This device is sturdy, simple to use, understand, and setup. There were some initial hiccups with getting used to ASIO (which is the main driver) but over time this has also become quite stable (I am using it with Reaper but have also used with Cubase). It can deliver 4 mono + 1 Midi or 2 stereo + 1 Midi output seamlessly without lag or loss in quality and can stand the test of time in terms of build quality. It can also deliver phantom power for condenser microphones (via XLR input only) saving you good money on additional and expensive power sources. Definitely recommend it for a home or even a small production studio. Please note unlike the iO2 this will need external power.
