While I had imagined the various possibilities of integration with my preferred DAW (Ableton Live) and the immediate usage of the device when plugged in, this was sadly not the case. It took some getting used to and there aren't too many knowledge-resource available. To save you some time please use https://francoisgeorgy.github.io/pacer-editor/#/preset as an out of the box editor to configure your device. Finding this took a lot of time. The transport & track functions are not readily mapped to Ableton although they are more or less mapped to Reaper (haven't tried other DAWs). Also can someone please tell me how to edit the midi setting for each of the track/transport functions? Because I couldn't find a way to edit them. The only editable set of midi functions were in Preset.Other than the apparant complexity of the device it is a very powerful and flexible device nonetheless. I am still learning it and it looks like it'll take me sometime before I can utilize it in its true sense. Basically this device will give you to remagine your live controls the way you want to. It will take some time but its definitely possible with this baby.The build is top notch, can't wait to try it out live. Its easy to set it up with the computer and the registration webpage gives you a good download on integration with your preferred DAW. You will need a gig bag (POD HD bag should do) as it doesn't come with one. Its self powered so no adapter given or needed. It has great pads to hold it steady even on a slippery floor.Happy with the packaging and delivery facilitated by Bajaao. Thanks for a good experience!
Not easy to use
This controller is so well designed and executed to perfection. The layout, the features, the quality of switches and most importantly the algorithm for MIDI patches. You can virtually take any application that has a MIDI panel option and find a signal path to this controller. 6 patches, with 6 presets in each patch and each preset can send upto 16 Midi channels. Do the math and tell me if this ain't the real thing!
Nektar makes great products, and this is just another example. Solid Build Quality. I have been gigging with this tank for almost a year now, and it has never failed me. It does take some getting used to, in terms of the settings and the triggers. But once done, it is capable of so much and I love it.
