BAJAAO India presents the Novation Impulse 61 USB Midi Keyboard (61Keys).
The Novation Impulse 61 USB MIDI controller gives you everything you need to control your DAW with expression and precision. At the heart of the Impulse 61 is its highly responsive semi-weighted keyboard with assignable aftertouch. You get full DAW/plug-in control via 9 faders, 8 rotarys, 8 backlit performance pads, an army of dedicated/assignable buttons and transport controls, and an LCD screen to keep you status-savvy. The Impulse 61 also ships with a tidy collection of cool software and sounds.
The Novation Impulse 61's semi-weighted keybed is first-class. Designed to feel like an instrument rather than a computer accessory, these keys communicate musical expression to your DAW with an efficacy you never thought possible. That's always been the challenge with MIDI and computer-based music creation - and the Impulse 61 attacks it head-on. The result is better music.
Iron-fisted, velvet-gloved control
In addition to the superb keyboard, the Novation Impulse 61's multi-function, backlit drum pads let you roll beats, warp arpeggios, launch clips in Ableton Live, and curb the potential for mayhem that lurks beneath the surface of every complex DAW setup. And with immediate access to your DAW's transport, mixer and plug-ins, you'll enjoy increased productivity and focus, resulting in, again, better music.
Works with all major DAWS
The Novation Impulse 61 has been designed and tested to work with all major DAWs and plug-in instruments and effects, including Ableton (Ableton Live Lite comes included with Impulse), Cubase, Logic, ProTools, Reason/Record, Sonar (PC only), FL Studio, Studio One, and Garage Band. Automap 4 control software is the magic that gives you immediate hands-on access to your DAW and plug-ins. In addition, you get Impulse 61 access to your 3rd party plug-in instruments and effects, such as Native Instruments, Waves or FXpansion. In Live, you can even control Scene Launch and Clip Launch using Impulse's back-lit drum pads. The Novation Impulse 61 is one serious controller.

It's absolutely a blissful treat for me. Wonderful packing. Classic keyboard
I've owned the novation impulse 61 for over 3 years now, and i've gotta say that the semi weighted keys on them are a very decent bunch, they feel much more natural than the keys on the mid ranged yamaha and roland workstations. And the setups that you can tweak on all the different controls are impressive. However, over the last year, i've encountered some constant issues with the drum pads, faders and the mod wheel, which keeps triggering and sending random MIDI information to my DAW. This renders my drumpads virtually useless (because they keep triggering randomly if i have a drum plugin loaded), so i've completely turned them off. The faders also keep randomly changing the volume levels on my DAW's mixer and is pretty useless now. Just the inability to use these two components, takes almost half the functionality from the midi controller away. Now, i might be quiet unlucky to have received a bad piece, but this is extremely disappointing from a brand like novation, and that too for one of the higher end midi controllers on the market.
Mostly does what it says. The keybed is good. Plays well. The arpeggiator feature along with the pads and rolls is pretty cool. The pads feel good. The sliders and endless rotaries feel a little lose but do what they area supposed to.I am using it with reason and offers decent control along with automap. I still have to reach out for the mouse and the keyboard quite a lot.It offers key command mapping but does not allow mapping the return/enter key which kind of defeats the whole purpose.
I bought this for my home studio. No words. Its just awesome. The feel of the keys, thanks to semi-weighted aftertouch feature which perfectly fulfill my needs. If you don't need like to put hands on your mouse every time while you record, this is the thing you should go for. Thanks to Automap feature.
