The Banjo came nicely packed. The Quality is good, the wood well polished, the grains stand out and the metal brackets was clean and no rust. There were a few blemishes on the frets and the fret board needed a little bit of polish. It was expected as the banjo isn't a very popular instrument in India and was probably lying around waiting for a bit for someone to pick it up. Took a bit of tuning to make it sound proper. It has a nice warm tone. It's a tab bit heavy but again it was expected because of the metal brackets holding up the skin.
For any guitarist who wishes to dive into learning the banjo, I recommend getting familiar with Open Tuning G tuning as the Banjo's standard tuning is in Open G with the highest note being an octave higher than the G in the guitar. Also if you are familiar with finger picking its only a matter of time getting adjusted to the rolls.
Would I recommend it ? Yes I would. Albeit you have cheaper banjo's in the market but their sound isn't as good as this.
I gave it 4 stars because of the blemishes it had. Which it isn't a factor for me but could be for someone. I would have given it 4 and a half stars but the rating bar wouldn't let me.
